The Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai in Vietnam has officially unveiled a series of luxurious upgrades to its One-Bedroom and Family Villas. The resort introduced the newly renovated units on August 22, with 43 villas already open for guests and the final 17 slated for completion by mid-December. Once finished, a total of 60 villas will be available for booking. The transformation, executed by Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA) Singapore, masterfully reasserts the vision of the original design by architect Reda Amalou and the late interior designer Jaya Ibrahim. This project is not a radical departure but a thoughtful evolution, introducing contemporary refinements while preserving the essential character and authentic sense of place that have defined the resort for years. With stunning open views of the surrounding tropical gardens and the East Sea, the revamped villas are thoughtfully designed for both couples and families seeking a serene sanctuary where they can unwind and reconnect with the natural beauty that surrounds them, providing an enhanced sense of space, comfort, and deep tranquility.
Refined Design Details Elevate the Guest Experience
The redesign of the One-Bedroom and Family Villas reflects a beautiful dialogue between Vietnamese heritage and contemporary elegance, drawing inspiration from the garden houses of Hue, Vietnam’s former imperial capital. The villas retain their signature features—a timber roof, an elevated sleeping platform, and an uninterrupted view from the bed to the sea—while introducing a fresh and refined transformation. A refreshed and lighter color palette, featuring accents of chartreuse and mustard, was carefully selected to resonate with the vibrant surrounding landscape. Artisanal materials and locally inspired silhouettes pay homage to the region’s enduring craft traditions, while a newly introduced bay window in the living area and a plush daybed create a serene nook for reading or reflection. The central sleeping pavilion has been reimagined with sunset-toned ombré drapery and pendant lighting inspired by traditional nón lá hats, and a second daybed is positioned for privacy. These enhancements, from the Dyson hairdryers to the Bang & Olufsen speakers and smart TVs, integrate intuitive comfort and functionality, ensuring every detail contributes to a seamless and luxurious stay.
Enhanced Spaces for Modern Travelers
A key part of the upgrade was the expansion of both the One-Bedroom and Family Villas, increasing their size from 80 to 87 square meters and 104 to 108 square meters, respectively, to offer guests more space and enhanced comfort. For families, the upgrades are particularly significant. The newly sectioned-off lounge in the Family Villas now doubles as a dedicated children’s room, complete with a sofa-bed and a separate bathroom with a shower, providing young guests with their own comfortable space. The expanded bathrooms also feature a striking interplay of textures and colors with bold Panda White marble, artisanal floor tiles, and a seeded glass lantern, while the redesigned vanity counter recalls traditional Vietnamese cabinetry. A window frames the freestanding bathtub, offering bath rituals with serene views of the lush garden. This thoughtful integration of modern functionality with traditional design elements ensures that every guest, regardless of age, can enjoy a harmonious blend of nature, luxury, and cultural authenticity.
