KCN Vietnam Group Launches Community Support Initiatives with Strategic MoU

KCN Vietnam Group has formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Lao Dong Newspaper and the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund to jointly inaugurate a significant series of community support initiatives across Vietnam.

This collaboration is set to launch in the fourth quarter of the current year, during which KCN Vietnam Group, working alongside the Lao Dong Newspaper, will implement key corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities.

These activities are valued at VND400 million, or approximately $15,400, and will target crucial areas including Tay Ninh, Dong Nai, Bac Ninh, and Haiphong provinces.

The comprehensive program is specifically designed to provide tangible support by funding the construction or necessary renovation of homes for workers who are deemed to be in need.

This housing support significantly contributes to the overarching “Union Shelter” initiative, which is centrally led by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, aiming to enhance living standards for the workforce.

Furthermore, KCN Vietnam Group will extend its support through academic channels.

It will award scholarships to children from disadvantaged workers’ families who demonstrate outstanding academic achievements, while also providing crucial financial and facility support to various vocational colleges in the regions where the company operates.

These multi-faceted efforts underscore KCN Vietnam Group’s commitment to enhancing the learning environments and developing essential technical skills, particularly in high-demand fields like electronics and advanced technology, which are crucial for Vietnam’s long-term workforce development and industrial competitiveness in the global economy.

Fostering Sustainable Growth Through ESG Strategy

Hardy Diec, the Chief Operating Officer of KCN Vietnam Group, reiterated the company’s deep commitment to community engagement, sharing that it has consistently been positioned at the core of the group’s overarching vision and mission.

He emphasized that this commitment represents a fundamental pillar of its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy, signaling that the company integrates its social responsibilities into its core business model.

Through the “KCN Vietnam Group – Connect for Good” initiative, the company aims to make a direct and tangible contribution to the socioeconomic development within the specific localities where it conducts its business operations.

This extensive program reflects KCN Vietnam Group’s explicit long-term dedication to fostering sustainable growth and actively building a better future together with the communities that surround its industrial parks and facilities.

Marking the initial milestone of this important community journey, the group successfully delivered the first wave of community support in Tay Ninh province on November 1.

This immediate action included the sponsorship of the construction of a home for a worker as part of the “Union Shelter” drive, and the awarding of 25 scholarships to students from families facing financial hardship.

This timely initiative provided not only critical, practical support necessary to improve basic living conditions but also offered invaluable encouragement, helping workers’ families achieve greater stability and giving their children the essential opportunity to continue their education and pursue their futures with renewed confidence.

The focused support demonstrates the group’s proactive stance on social welfare and education.

The “Connect for Good” Program’s Dual Focus and Long-Term Impact

The community activities carried out by the group are all integrated under the comprehensive CSR drive known as the “KCN Vietnam Group – Connect for Good,” which is strategically structured around two distinct but complementary core pillars.

The first pillar is dedicated to housing support, aimed at significantly improving the living conditions and overall welfare for workers employed within the industrial zones and surrounding areas.

The second pillar focuses intensely on children and education support, which is critical for nurturing future generations and actively developing a high-quality, technically skilled workforce essential for Vietnam’s rapidly modernizing economy.

Speaking at the event, Nguyen Hoai Thanh, the vice chairman of the Tay Ninh Labour Federation, expressed the local authority’s high regard for KCN Vietnam Group’s partnership and the long-term strategic vision encapsulated within the “KCN Vietnam Group – Connect for Good” program.

He noted that the company’s support offers meaningful assistance in helping local workers secure stable housing, which is a basic necessity, while also making a direct and vital contribution to improving the quality of education and vocational training.

This latter aspect directly supports the province’s key goal of developing a robust and skilled workforce, necessary to meet its socioeconomic growth targets in the coming years.

Following the inaugural activities in Tay Ninh, the “KCN Vietnam Group – Connect for Good” journey will steadily continue its expansion into Dong Nai, Bac Ninh, and Haiphong throughout 2025.

This ongoing program is expected to substantially benefit a greater number of workers and students from disadvantaged backgrounds, extending its profound positive impacts and firmly reaffirming KCN Vietnam Group’s strong, long-term commitment to corporate social responsibility and community wellbeing across all localities where it operates.
