The upcoming Việt Nam International Sourcing 2025 expo in Ho Chi Minh City is set to become a major hub for global supply chain connections. Scheduled from September 4 to 6, the event will welcome approximately 300 business delegations from 60 countries, all eager to find reliable suppliers. The expo will showcase over 12,000 products from 400 Vietnamese companies across four key sectors: wood products, handicrafts, textiles, and food and beverage (F&B). Beyond the exhibition floor, the event’s comprehensive program, which includes factory tours, expert consultations, and networking sessions, is strategically designed to help both Vietnamese and international businesses forge long-term partnerships and build resilient and sustainable supply chains. The significant international attendance, particularly from renowned European firms, highlights Việt Nam’s growing status as a critical manufacturing and sourcing destination on the global stage.

European Firms Prioritize Sustainable Partnerships

The expo’s strong attendance from European businesses underscores their increasing interest in forging closer ties with Vietnamese suppliers. Global retail giants are leading this charge, with a clear focus on sustainability and ethical sourcing. Swedish furniture behemoth IKEA is actively seeking a long-term collaboration with local suppliers, while fast-fashion leader H&M’s participation is expected to open new doors for Vietnamese businesses to integrate into global supply chains. Furthermore, a contingent of food companies from Northern Europe, including East Asia Food AB, Achaulien Export Import AB, and GFI Stockholm AB, will be in attendance with a specific goal of securing Vietnamese suppliers who adhere to strict sustainability and food safety standards in compliance with rigorous European Union regulations. This focus on compliance and ethical production demonstrates that European buyers are not only looking for competitive pricing but are also prioritizing partners who can meet their high-quality and sustainability benchmarks.

Tapping into Emerging Eastern European Markets

While traditional Western markets remain crucial, Việt Nam is also strategically expanding its presence into new and promising regions, particularly in Eastern Europe. The article notes that countries such as Ukraine and Belarus have a significant and consistent demand for essential goods like food, beverages, and textiles, presenting a fertile ground for Vietnamese agricultural and manufactured products. Similarly, Hungary and Bulgaria are highlighted for their steady demand for dairy, nutritional products, and household goods. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, tapping into these burgeoning markets could unlock a new and substantial growth area for Vietnamese exports.
