Strategic Expansion in Vietnam
Cooler Master is currently finalizing the construction of a 10-hectare factory, a significant $200 million investment within the Gia Binh Industrial Park, marking its commitment to the burgeoning technology sector in Vietnam. This advanced facility is strategically designed to specialize in the production of high-value components, including cooling modules for AI servers, machine learning systems, and sophisticated liquid cooling solutions for data centers. The initial phase of this project, which is poised to become a key component of the company’s global production network, is anticipated to begin operations in early 2026. This initial investment is just the first step in a larger, more ambitious plan. During a recent meeting with Bac Ninh provincial leaders, Andy Lin, chairman of Cooler Master, announced the company’s intention to lease an additional 11 hectares within the same industrial park. This substantial expansion is aimed at not only significantly boosting the company’s production capacity but also at attracting vendors and strategic partners to co-locate and collaborate, with the ultimate goal of establishing a robust, stable, and self-sufficient local supply chain that can support its long-term growth in the region.
Fostering Innovation and Human Capital
Beyond its manufacturing ambitions, Cooler Master’s expansion plans in Bac Ninh include a clear focus on fostering innovation and developing human capital. The company has expressed a strong interest in collaborating with the province to establish a dedicated AI research center and a technical training school. This initiative is designed to ensure a steady supply of a highly skilled workforce, a critical element for the sustained growth of the high-tech industry in the region. In response to this forward-thinking proposal, Vuong Quoc Tuan, the Chairman of the Bac Ninh People’s Committee, affirmed the province’s full commitment to supporting Cooler Master throughout its entire expansion process. This includes providing assistance with crucial elements such as land allocation, planning information, and infrastructure development. The provincial leadership also offered an innovative suggestion to the company: exploring a high-rise building model that integrates worker accommodation and vocational training. This creative approach would not only optimize land use in a dense industrial area but would also directly contribute to the company’s long-term business growth by creating a self-contained and highly efficient operational ecosystem.
Government Support and Investment Acceleration
The provincial government of Bac Ninh is actively demonstrating its commitment to attracting and retaining high-tech investment through a supportive and responsive administrative approach. Chairman Tuan highlighted that the province already provides a range of preferential policies specifically tailored to high-tech workforce training, particularly in the critical field of artificial intelligence. This aligns perfectly with Cooler Master’s plan to establish a research and training facility. He assured the company’s representatives that Bac Ninh is fully committed to providing comprehensive support for any educational and research projects it chooses to pursue in the province. The commitment from Bac Ninh’s leadership goes a step further, with Tuan assuring that relevant government departments would promptly and efficiently assist in finalizing the necessary administrative procedures to issue a formal investment decision in August. This expedited process is designed to ensure the project moves forward swiftly, minimizing delays and providing a clear example of the province’s pro-business stance. The aim is to create a positive “ripple effect,” encouraging other high-tech companies to invest in the region and solidifying Bac Ninh’s reputation as a premier destination for global technology and manufacturing firms.
