Lucrative Contract for Offshore Services

Perdana Petroleum Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Perdana Nautika Sdn Bhd (PNSB), has successfully secured a significant RM11.6 million contract, a key win for the company in the marine services sector. The contract was awarded by DESB Marine Services Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dayang Enterprise Holdings Bhd. This agreement, as detailed in a filing with Bursa Malaysia, centers on the provision of one accommodation work barge, or AWB, to DESB Marine. The contract is set to officially commence on June 16, 2025, and includes a firm period of 130 days. Furthermore, the agreement offers an option for an extension of up to an additional 60 days, which could further boost the contract’s value and duration. The successful securing of this contract highlights the company’s strong operational capabilities and its continued relevance in a highly competitive industry, reinforcing its position as a reliable partner for major projects.

Strengthening a Strategic Alliance

Under the terms of the agreement, Perdana Nautika Sdn Bhd is tasked with providing the accommodation work barge fully equipped with the necessary crews and equipment to perform 24-hour services. The vessel’s primary responsibilities will include assisting and servicing a range of offshore assets, such as drilling rigs, offshore installations, and derrick barges. The AWB is also contracted to undertake specialized tasks like towing and anchor jobs, showcasing its versatility and importance in complex offshore operations. Perdana Petroleum emphasized that this vessel charter is not merely a standalone business deal but an integral part of a broader strategic alliance that has been forged between the Dayang Group and the Perdana Petroleum Group. This collaboration is designed to create a synergistic partnership that benefits both companies and enhances their capabilities within the marine services sector.

Maximizing Asset Utilization and Market Position

The strategic alliance between the two groups is geared toward two primary objectives: maximizing the utilization of Perdana Petroleum’s fleet of vessels and enhancing their qualifications to bid for a broader range of offshore maintenance works. This contract serves as a tangible example of the alliance’s success in achieving these goals, as it ensures that one of Perdana Petroleum’s key assets is put to productive use for a significant duration. By securing this contract, Perdana Petroleum not only generates substantial revenue but also strengthens its position and reputation in the marine services sector. The successful completion of this project will likely lead to future opportunities, enabling the company to compete for more lucrative and complex projects. This strategic move reinforces Perdana Petroleum’s standing as a reliable and capable partner, which will contribute to its long-term growth and competitiveness in the industry.
